Mantrailing Introduction Workshops
The Mantrailing Introduction sessions are usually held on alternate Sundays, 10am – 2pm. During your Mantrailing Introduction course, you and your dog will cover the basics of how to begin trailing. This session is all about teaching your dog how to play the “game” of following a scent. Once you’ve undertaken a mantrailing introduction course, you will be able to trail with any Mantrailing UK qualified instructor. If you’re not able to attend an Introduction on a Sunday, we will be able to accommodate you instead on one of our evening trailing sessions. Please see below for further details.
The cost of the Introduction is £60 per dog/handler team.
Mantrailing Weekly Sessions
After completing your Mantrailing Introduction course with Dog Ways Lancashire or another Mantrailing UK qualified instructor, you will be eligible to attend the weekly trailing sessions and begin working towards your Level 1 award. Weekly mantrailing sessions take place in and around East Lancashire, in a variety of appropriate urban and rural settings. Exact locations will be confirmed to attendees 3 days before the training date.
The cost of the Weekly training is £20 per session.
Depending on the number of attendees, the weekly session may last between 1.5-3 hours. Whilst training venues are decided in advance of each session, if you’re trailing regularly with us, please let us know where you’re coming from and we’ll try to source some locations near to you as well.
If you’re unable to attend one of our Sunday Introduction workshops, you can opt instead to undertake your introduction during one of our weekly training sessions. Normal weekly sessions begin at 7pm, but you’ll need to arrive by 6.30pm so that we can go over the basics with you before the other participants arrive. You’ll be able to select the Introduction as an “Add-on” to a weekly training session using our booking system below. Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries.
The Special Events will usually include fun/themed workshops or locations, advanced techniques, or more complex trails. To attend one of the Special Events, you must have completed at least an Introduction Workshop with Mantrailing UK instructor. Due to high demand and limited number of places, early booking is strongly recommended. The complexity of the trails during these events is tailored to each dog/handler team’s level of experience, so that newer teams won’t miss out on these experiences.
We usually hold special events/advanced workshops on weekends or public holidays, but dates and times will vary depending on the availability of the venues.
Our current special events are as follows:
|Saturday 28th August, 5.30pm – 9pm|
